Feast for the Eye
"The primary merit of a painting is to be a feast for the eye" said Mr Delacroix, and I do tend to think that when I make these paintings. Plenty to look at, and things to discover on repeat lookings. I hope. This one continues to relate loosely to the allotment, now in reality at peak production and a mass of pattern and colour.
There is purple pearlescent paint in the background of this one, and silver (aluminium) for some of the structures, so another to flash at you as you move about the room.
'Plenty More'. Acrylic on canvas. 30x30cms
And here, a few stages in development.
