Colours

This is the mixing palette for my pochade box, thick with oil colour on returning from a golden hour in Bedford Park yesterday afternoon.

I have been leaving the paint on the palette between pictures - the old paint dries and other colours can be mixed on top - big blobs can be popped and the contents used again.

Yesterday most of the palette surface was still wet from the last park foray, and a pale blue sky started off pale blue green.

Probably one of the reasons the paint went on so thickly.

And of course it is great fun to plaster it on.
