John Lewis
The combinations of colour that I see in shops and stores can have quite an impact. On a recent trip by X5 to Cambridge, the Easter display in John Lewis was a joy.
Creamy pastel eggshell colours, bright greens and trumpeting yellows.
In the studio I started off a new batch of paintings with the John Lewis colours fresh in my mind, the paint puddled, swirled and washed away in places.
One of the above panels, all chocolate and swimming blue, incubated into the picture below.
